THE START OF ANOTHER BUSY DAY OUT ON THE TRONA RAILWAY
NEW! Lone Pine Branch - Trona Railway is now available!
The UP\SP Lone Pine Branch starts at the Main 2 Switch just north of Mojave Yard, heading northeast across Highway 14. This branch originally ran for about 150 miles to Lone Pine, CA. In the early 1980's, the Southern Pacific Railroad filed for abandonment of roughly 100 miles from Searles, CA, to Lone Pine. Since then, this branch is only about 50 miles in length, running between Mojave Yard and Searles Yard. Between Mojave and Searles, there are a few industries served at Chaffee, Cantil & Saltdale.
The Trona Railway operates between Searles Yard and the town of Trona, CA, roughly 30 miles in length. Searles Yard is used as an interchange between the UP\SP Railroad and the Trona Railway. This line serves three mineral mining operations that operate next to Searles Lake (a dry lakebed) near the towns of Trona and Argus, CA. The current parent-company owns all three of these operations along with the Trona Railway and its tracks & equipment.

NEW! Arvin and Oak Creek Branches are now available!
The Arvin Branch joins the SP\UP mainline at Magunden, about 3 miles railroad-east\south of Kern Jct. The branch is approximately 17 miles in length, snaking its way to the south and east, passing thru the towns of Lamont, Digorgio, and ending in Arvin, CA.
The Oak Creek Branch runs between the wye at Mojave, CA, and a CalPortland cement plant located in Creal, about 8 miles west of Mojave. The grade is 2% and greater uphill westbound. The branch is unsignalled.

NEW BNSF Bakersfield Sub route is now available!
The BNSF Bakersfield Sub covers roughly 110 miles of mainline between BNSF Bakersfield Yard in Bakersfield, CA to Calwa Yard in Fresno, California. Along the route are numerous grain facilities that are used to unload grain cars for disribution across the central valley. The route also sees 12 Amtrak San Joaquin passenger trains a day servicing 4 stations along the route!

The 7th Run8 V2 Update (3.8.2019) is now available!
The 7th update adds a mo-betta distant terrain system for the southern california routes which came out very cool! Reefer and autorack cars have been added to the AI traffic generation of mixed intermodal trains. And also fixed an issue wih the RailDriver and alerter button. There is a few more things added including more scenery in the Bakersfield area and some other squawks that were reported. Thank you for your feedback we really do appreciate it.

The Run8 CSX Waycross route is now available! This
route covers approximately 80 miles in the southeast part of Georgia, the CSX Waycross expansion begins in two places at the current ALine limits. First at Race Pond, GA on the Jesup sub the line travels to Waycross, and to Rice Yard with its receiving yard feeding the 64 track operational Hump Classification bowl! Second at Winokur, GA and continues up to the famous little town of Ludowici, GA. The route also includes the Rayonier Plant which is the worlds largest wood pulp processing facility at Doctortown just north of Jesup and many other cool features that only Run8

AMTRAK'S SOUTHWEST CHIEF #3 CROSSING THE COLORADO RIVER INTO CALIFORNIA! THE RUN8 BNSF SELIGMAN SUB WEST ROUTE IS NOW AVAILABLE!
The Run8 BNSF Seligman Sub West route is now available! The
route is roughly 150 miles long and extends the Run8 network from Needles, CA to Seligman, AZ. The route features a double mainline with seperated grades at various places and there are several large industries that are served by locals along the route including the massive Kingman Industrial Park east of Kingman. Amtrak's popular Southwest Chief's #3 and #4 will run at 90MPH in many places and they also change crews at Kingman, AZ. Yes, this may be another desert route but it is an extremely scenic one that runs along the historic highway US Route 66 which spans from the breathtaking Colorado River crossing to the beautiful Crozier Canyon and the scenic Pinon Forests beyond. Oh and one more important thing, the many, many cool features that only Run8

THE CSX SELKIRK - MOHAWK UPDATE IS NOW AVAILABLE!
After much much work and testing we are finally pleased to offer an update to the CSX Selkirk and Mohawk routes that addresses many issues that have been reported by the community which we are very grateful for everyone's help and support. Here are some of the improvements made; The east end of Selkirk yard has been completely relaid as well as the classification bowl. Humping multiple cars at a time is now possible and new DS screens have been added that are much easier to follow. Many signals and block detectors have been fixed and we included a new world session called Selkirk Heavy Haul! ;)

As you know. you the customer is the most important thing to us and because of that we are putting a lot of cool things that you have requested over the last few years into version 2 of Run8. However it is taking us much longer than we anticipated so we have decided to move the release date out to September or October 2016. This will give the guys much needed breathing room which will help us get things right. In the mean time we are going to release some more DLC for version 1 (which will work in v2) including some Amfleet cars, smooth sided wellcars (old style and new). and some viewliner cars. And again as always we thank you for your support and patience.

Just an update regarding the tunnel motors and v2. John has decided to hold off the release of the tunnel motors and SD45s till after v2 is released as he does not have time to support a v1 release of them at this time. And work continues on v2 and when we get close to the release we will put a video together showing exactly what we have in store for our users. And yes, version 1 content will be compatible with version 2 content. And as always we thank you for your patience and your support and we assure you that the wait will be worth it!

We recieved some sad news the other day regarding the passing of Mr. Bos Hart in Australia. The Run 8 team would like to express our sincere sympathies and condolences to the family of Mr. Hart. Bos was a great guy and loved Run 8 and he was our very first customer back in July 2012! Some of us had the pleasure of running with him and we are going to miss him dearly. Rest in peace Boz.
And in memory of Mr. Bos Hart or "Boz" as he liked to be called we are dedicating this new upgrade to him.

New Run8 CSX Selkirk Terminal Now Available: CSX
Selkirk yard is one of largest classification
yards in the North East. Serving New England,
South to New York City, and North to the City
of Albany via the Port Sub.
Today's
Selkirk yard is a major hub for the gateway
west and south. On any given day, 70+ trains
either orginate, terminate or pass though Selkirk.
Trains enter the yard, if terminating, 11 tracks
called the receving yard, from there the power
of the train is cut away and then brought into
the fuel plant. From there the inbound trains,
have their air bleed, and then humped over the
3.2% grade and re classed for new trains. Now
you can enjoy this route in Run8 complete with
a working hump and classfication yard!

annual rail festival on Saturday and Sunday. They

Depot (the museum) next to the Harvey House so
please come on out and see us and show your support

The Run 8 Team had a great time out at
Barstow, California demonstrating our new Run
8 Train Simulator - BNSF Mojave Sub at the
Barstow Railfest on September 29th and
30th sponsored by our dear friends at the
Western America Railroad Museum (WARM).
Thank you for having us WARM!
Also,
it's worth noting that John Greenstone spent most
of his time while there getting the museum's cab
simulator ready for Run8 so it now looks like
the museum is one step closer to finally having
a working cab train simulator which will help
generate much needed revenue for the museum's
various projects that they have in the works.
Stay tuned for more information on this exciting
project as we go into 2013!
One
other thing worth noting, we are pleased to announce
that Run8 will work with the new Windows 8 platform!!
