Route Summary

This part of the UP Fresno Sub covers roughly 85 miles between CP Saco near Bakersfield, CA to CP Goble near Fresno, CA. Along the route are numerous industries and grain facilities that are used to unload grain cars for disribution across the central valley.

UP Fresno South Operations - Unit Trains

Presently, the UP Fresno South region is serviced by four different grain trains to Associated Feed Supply (industry tag AFS), Western Milling Famoso (WMF), Western Milling Goshen (WMG), and JD Feed and Grain (JDT). We imagined these industries all functioning similarly in that they receive a unit grain train which originates from the Midwest and makes its way West, then comes from the North onto the Fresno subdivision. UP Fresno South Operations - Locals

There are 4 regular locals that work on the UP Fresno South sub. For the purposes of Run8 we can either run them as originating from Fresno yard (most accurate), or from UP Bakersfield yard. Either way, there will be a variety of industries to service with both trailing and leading point operations required - oftentimes occupying the mainline to do so..
